Love Story

I didn’t buy a warehouse of old stock or abandoned storage items. Each dress you see on this site has been selectively chosen for its unique details and flattering style. There are many new, modern gowns out there, but they don’t speak to me like these vintage beauties. Sometimes when I acquire a dress I get to hear the story of the bride and groom, or see a photograph from their wedding day. I personally launder these gowns, button each button, and arrange every flounce of tulle. For years these treasures have been tucked away with old love letters, pressed flowers, and celebratory grains of rice that have nestled into the veils. It is time to bring them out in all their glory!

You won’t see these gowns on the runway or in bridal chain stores.

These vintage gowns have style that will be remembered and romance that will woo you. Some have beauty marks or “kisses of time”, but they are all wearable. I do my best to note or photograph these instances. I want to deliver dresses to you that are ready to wear, but occasionally there is a dress that has such gorgeous fabric or lovely lines that I will offer it to you, in spite of a hole in the lace or replaced buttons. Remember, the right seamstress can work wonders to make repairs or alterations.

A touch of yesterday for today's bride.

I love vintage fashion, but I’m also a modern woman and I know there are many types of weddings. You’ll find a nice selection of dresses (wiggle dresses, tea-length dresses, dresses with matching jackets…) that could be used for rehearsal dinners, civil ceremonies, or for a fabulous going-away outfit as you embark on your honeymoon with a gardenia corsage.

This is a momentous purchase and each detail is meant to keep those endorphins flowing and your smiling cheeks glowing. When your wedding gown arrives you will find that it has been carefully packaged with a generous ribbon and box, reminiscent of the ball gown boxes in the old movies. Pour yourself a glass of bubbly, listen to some Etta James or Cole Porter, and spin around in front of a big mirror. Relish this moment and continue the love story this dress has to tell.
